How much is teeth whitening at a US dentist, and how much does teeth whitening cost by delivery: in the chair, in take-home trays, or one dark tooth on its own

Whitening has a published price at exactly one of the four US practices read for this record. A-Dental Center prints $400 to $700 for an in-office visit, $300 to $500 for custom take-home trays and $600 to $1,000 for the two together.

The one practice that publishes its own whitening fee

A-Dental Center publishes four whitening prices on one page: in-office at $400 to $700, custom take-home trays at $300 to $500, a combination of an office visit plus take-home treatment at $600 to $1,000, and internal bleaching at $300 to $600 per tooth. It marks all four as subject to change, which is what an honest price list does.

What the other three practices publish instead

Riccobene Associates publishes $400 to $800 a session for in-office whitening and $150 to $400 for dentist-prescribed take-home kits, stated for the trade rather than for its own offices. My Dental Touch Studio publishes one sentence, $500 to $700. Charming Smiles of Ocoee publishes the fullest table read here, and credits every figure in it to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

The delivery is the price, not the brand

The three published tiers separate on how the gel is applied and for how long, not on which system is used. A chair visit is one appointment at the top of the band; trays are cheaper and slower; the combination costs more than either because it is both. A quote that does not say which of the three it is cannot be compared with any of them.

One dark tooth is a different purchase

Internal bleaching treats a single non-vital tooth from the inside and is published at $300 to $600 per tooth, with more than one visit possible. It is not a cheaper version of whitening a whole smile and it is not priced against one. Anybody quoted a per-tooth figure should check which of the two treatments is being quoted.

What this page is not

A price record. It does not say whether whitening suits your teeth, how many shades anything will move, how long a result lasts or what any of it does to enamel. Those are clinical questions and this hub publishes no clinical content. Every figure here was read on the practice's own page on 10 September 2026.

Other questions people ask

How much does teeth whitening cost at a dentist?

A-Dental Center, the one US practice in this record publishing its own whitening fee, puts an in-office visit at approximately $400 to $700 and dentist-supervised take-home trays at $300 to $500. The other three practices read publish the trade's national range instead.

Are take-home trays cheaper than in-office whitening?

On the one published fee list read here, yes: $300 to $500 for custom trays against $400 to $700 in the chair. The combination of both is published higher than either, at $600 to $1,000.

Why do whitening prices quoted online vary so much?

Because most of them are trade ranges rather than fees. Three of the four practices read for this page publish a national band, and one of those credits its numbers to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry rather than to its own schedule.

What does it cost to whiten one dark tooth?

Internal bleaching of a single non-vital tooth is published at $300 to $600 per tooth, and the same practice notes it may need several visits. That is a separate treatment from whitening a whole arch and is priced separately.
