How to get a bridge price you can compare
- Ask which type of bridge you are a candidate for. This is the single biggest lever on the price and it is a clinical judgement about the teeth either side, not a preference you get to pick from a menu.
- Ask how many units the quote covers. A bridge is priced by unit and each extra unit adds to the bill. A three-unit quote and a four-unit quote for the same gap are not the same quote.
- Ask what the bridge is made of. Porcelain fused to metal and full ceramic are priced differently and fail differently. A published range usually spans both, and the opening figure is the cheaper material.
- Ask what happens to the teeth either side. A traditional bridge means preparing healthy neighbours, which is a permanent decision. Ask what the plan is if one of them later fails.
